i moved here two and a half years ago, and have steadily rearranged the furniture every six months.
the smaller, darker nook is where i currently have the bedroom. i like that it is by the closet. it's unfortunate that it is right off the entryway.
kitchen... there are not enough cabinets and some of them are very narrow and oddly shaped.
this is so cute. your organization is very pleasing
the
aesthetic
i put contact paper on them! i think they looked too dark before. i also bought a dusky rose contact paper for the cabinets but i have not yet been so bold.
living area! the best part of the apartment.
abigail likes to sleep on the couch but you can't tell because it's abigail-colored.
i have a desk/office area i rarely use because i don't find the chair very comfortable. i also think i just need a deeper desk for more room to spread out. but it could just be the chair?
more often i am here at this table.
there is also a bathroom but it's not interesting.
It's very beautiful! Looks comfy to live and work in too
oh it's so cute! is it a studio?
yes it is a studio but divided into two semi-rooms.
the hallway between them is the kitchen. i like living in a studio but hate having to see the kitchen from bed so this was an important factor in my apartment search.
unfortunately because abigail's food bowl is in the kitchen she assumes any time i am cooking, getting something from the fridge, or moving from one spot to another... i might be getting her food! won't i give her some food?
it's super cute and cozy !
thank you all for the nice comments, many of which plurk initially hid from me.
i continue to LOVEEE your aesthetic so fuckin much and what you’ve done with the lil space
is that a samsung frame tv?
yes. it's very fancy, haha.
thor thinks the same thing when i'm in the kitchen... clearly it's food time!
also
quadrille i love your place too, i'm sure i've told you.
it is always time to feed abigail, according to abigail.
fistbumps interior decor buddies
and god yes your frame looks sooo good next to all that other framed art

genuinely the aesthetic tv i yearn for, i WILL get one someday
damn your interior design skills are rEALLY good
(also i love your pink kitchen aid)
Your place honestly looks so nice and cozy.
also I see you have an illumicrate sub
yeah but i gotta pause it because i'm not reading any of the books (even if i find them pretty lol)
Hundreds that was one of my most recent presents to myself. i am very happy it is pink.
I also think -- this isn't totally my home design aesthetic anymore but something similar was for a long time because white and modern with walls of hidden storage works so well in a small space
you can skip like 10 out of 12 books per year fyi
I don't currently have a proper IC sub though because I have Evernight and Afterlight and will definitely be getting Starbright lol
yeah i just gotta like, remember to actually do the work to skip
yeah! i like other styles of home decor, but i know neutral + accents works well for me both because of the small space i occupy (which i am not allowed to paint) and also because i get bored a lot and it's easier to switch out pillows/prints than it is everything else.
man looking at this makes me desperately want to organize my house
I had a platform bed that worked with that style for like 20 years and then I bought the cherry sleigh bed monstrosity of my dreams 2 years ago
now I have plum wallpaper with stripes of faux fresco flourishes
one thing that really helped me is i sprung for a "storage unit" in my apartment building. since i only have one closet it was really getting full of like… off-season coats and decor, and it was stressing me out a bit. moving some infrequently used stuff to the storage unit has let me have a bit more ease in organizing the things i use everyday.
(even though i still have too many clothes)
(too bad i'll never change!!)
it's horrible, I love it. but I love the lightness of your place. mine is cozy (green velvet curtain with heraldic beasts, lmao!) but it doesn't relax my eye.
hard to go wrong with green velvet, though
thor concurs with abigail and would like to subscribe to her newsletter re: feeding time
i got kicked out of illumicrate for skipping too many months in a row hahah but probably a good thing in the end since i too was not managing to actually read them. but they’re just. so pretty.
I feel like your place is so well put together and so lovely that I could sit down and instantly nap. Just feels that inviting.
important addendum:
also thank you for all the nice comments. i've put a fair bit of work into making my apartment feel inviting to me (and alas, keeping it tidy-ish is an ongoing process) and it's nice to be able to share it!
