a question! do characters need to choose a division similar to their career before the memloss, or could they go for something completely different? ie. would a pre-memloss healer have to go into the medical division, or could they go a completely different route and become a pilot/security/etc?

That's up to the player! It should fit the general character vibe, but it doesn't have to be their real profession or anything they actually can do in canon. A fighter that's gentle could possibly become a medic and so on. As you're going to have to pick two in case one is over-represented, a bit of AU push is also allowed.

i'm actually really intrigued about how the ac format will work out (positive interest, to be clear) because it seems way more doable as far as 'help, i've started 5 threads this month but none of them have hit 5 comments yet' goes

I'm glad! I wanted to make a system that doesn't punish a player if a thread goes slow, but also gives a bit of a carrot for the player to tag through the month.

Ooh. I don't know who I'd send but I'm intrigued, and that AC really stands out as a step forward. I could go for space AU.
