Well, I think he likes not working at things
So maybe this is a better question in regards to Dewey and his adventurer-ness

“I’m the brains, Webby’s the fist, Dewey’s the devil-may-care guts, and you... are there too!” and Louie gives Huey and confused, kinda disappointed/hurt look
And then later when Huey asks what’s going on with him, instead of telling the truth, he says “nothing, I’m just lovably lazy!” and Huey has to convince him to explain more

I love shows with happy endings because the theme song line "every day they're out there" kind of means that they're still adventuring after the show's ended
Still the same and still learning and being the ridiculously emotion-provoking ducks they are

Louie is also really perceptive and he’s very practiced at using his emotional intelligence to “see all the angles” and understand a situation and how everyone feels about it in order to manipulate or at least predict the outcome
So he knows exactly how everyone feels about him
It’s why he latches on to Goldie so quickly, too
She sees potential in ++

the exact traits that his f@m!ly usually writes off as “classic Louie” comedic immorality at best and dangerous and manipulative and lazy at worst
That’s why, with her, he lets his guard down and can’t predict or manipulate what’s happening
Because he’s focused more on the fact that she seems to genuinely like him and his cunning, unlike most people he knows
