I guess a lot of people like the story about the time my manager called me while I was at the wedding breakfast of my best friend's wedding to tell me the person who I got to cover my shift hadn't shown and demand I find another person to cover, right then and there
I told her like, look i am in my bridesmaid dress right now. I am At The Wedding Breakfast we are drinking mimosas. I did my job, I turned in my paperwork, it was approved. Even if it was my job, which it was NOT, I had neither the names or numbers or schedules of anyone else at that job. Manager sure did tho!!
I said even if I HAD that info I was NOT about to LEAVE MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING to go do her job for her. I told her I would not be doing that and i was going to go back to the wedding and I would see her next shift and I hung up.
Went to my next shift like normal and she never said a thing to me about it, no write-up no nothing, so I think she knew she had fucked up a little there. anyway I was at that job for like 5 years so.
and honestly the only thing that saved me from disciplinary action on it was probably a paper trail + it being a very sloppily run department that just didn't care enough
