sooooo we had a visit with the vet today, and it's looking like my dog is in the early stages of canine dementia

not really a lot to be done about it, except keep an eye on him. he's nearly 11, so it's not a huge shock

but at least for now his quality of life is still pretty good. if that starts declining obviously I'll take further measures

it's just so weird to think about. in my mind he's still a puppy, but he's a lot closer to the end of his life than the beginning

idk, we'll just have to take each day as it comes, i guess. today he is living his best old man life in his favorite comfy spot, so maybe i shouldn't worry too much yet
