In other news, went to my first ever spa treatment with cluelessnu today

We joked about asking them to change the "soothing" music to the Magnus Archives and I'm a bit bummed we didn't

I was a little nervous at the start because I don't usually like being touched. In the end it wasn't too bad.

I closed my eyes and pretended it was my mom giving me a massage. I do like it when my mom touches me and it was nice to pretend my mom was in the room with me. ❤️ Even though she's in another country right now.

This was paid for us by a friend. I don't think I'd seek to spend my own money on the experience to have it again, but if someone else was paying I would

Yeah it was a birthday gift for us because he had tried it himself and discovered he liked spa days

like they're trying to give you a 130% and you're just like dude just don't actively hurt me and we're great

It felt more like them trying to find ways to sell products to me better than any real care to my well being.

And it was. When they entered to start they just asked us our medical history and concerns and admitted to not reading the form.

i'll admit i def get more of those questionnaires for things like facials, where they like to act like they're treating something

i remember one time i was at one and they asked me what my energy levels were like, as if they could fix that with a moisturizer

it does all feel very silly if you're not in the mood

I was actually thinking during it: man... Should have told Summer we were doing this, I bet they would have told us what to expect during it.

Yeah, I think so. Although I wish they had done the hot stone last. As that was my favourite. Then they had us lay flat on our backs for the facial and pedicure. Which basically undid all the work they did on my back.

If I ever do this again I'll know to ask if we can do the stones last or just do the stones

Ah this was a gift package so it specifically had those three things but yeah I'd swap the order if them too

i think there's still a solid chance you can adjust it. i've had packages before that came with a facial and a back scrub and i was like "i'm sensitive and my derm doesn't want me to do that. can i just have a super long massage instead" and they did it

so maaaybe worth asking

or just saying you don't love a certain part of it and they'll offer up alternatives
