as if there wasn't enough going on atm, Penelope somehow?? got cooked chicken bones out of the trash???
latest #15
from the sweet and sour wings I had yesterday which is NOT GREAT.
I strip those fuckers down to the bone but it looks like she gnawed the ends off of the drumettes
she seems fine right now and it's not the first time she's eaten something she definitely should not have but. ffs.

The ends tend to crumble so she should be fine -- the problem with chicken bones is they splinter and get stuck in the animal's throat, which tends to happen mid-bone.
yeah she does seem okay and this is at least the second time she's eaten something that made me go WHAT so I'm just gonna keep an eye on her over the weekend
third time, I think
at least this time it's not literal tin foil

If she'll eat it, a slice of soft bread can help protect the stomach and intestines if she did eat any sharp bits
she's snagged bites of bread before, so that's a thought! this feels like a silly question but the only soft bread we have on hand is whole wheat, would that cause any digestive issues?

I'm not as up on cat digestion. I wouldn't think it'd be a problem but I can't know for sure, sorry.

wheat bread is fine! not too much, I would not do a whole slice esp if there aren't any sharp edges/shards on the bones.

But again if she only chewed the ends off those don't shatter, they crumble, so it's basically bone meal in her stomach which I wouldn't stress about.
yeah, I'm still a little worried because there were jagged edges where she broke them off, so I gave her a slice and she ate about a third of it

That's about as much as I'd let her eat or she'll puke when it swells in her stomach.
