that the works we covered in class greatly improved my knowledge of American literature, especially concerning the different genres.
I agree. I would have struggled to define what a realist, modernist and post modernist was before this class!

Yes, and I learned a lot of the American history which I never knew before.
It's interesting to see which works came out of which time period, which helps to define and explain those (such as postmodernism...)
