cultural icon on "The Simpsons."

I wonder what he thinks about the ads for books running on tv now. I think it's admirable that he wants his work to speak for itself.

Not that this is related to authors, but I have heard that "Five Guys Burgers and Fries" does not do any advertising, they don't have a logo

on their bags or anything, and they don't have advertisements or commercials. They just want to be advertised by word of mouth, and in a

way I think this relates to Pynchon and how he is anonymous.
