I think Maggie was probably the least embarrassing of the bunch.

agree w/both, but this did kind of convey the culture or way of life of the poor in those days from what I've seen.

I agree I think she was the least embarrassing out of all of them. It seems she was the only one with aspirations of moving up in life.
