there are things I like about Twitter, and things I like about Plurk. Find myself in both of them more than either Jaiku or Pownce.
Zee says
well pownce is just slow & painful at the mo...it's quite sad.

I hated plurk at first. But I have found some value here that isn't replicated elsewhere.

it took me several days of steady plurking to get over the hump, Chris
TheNanny612 says

I think Plurk is easier to converse with people.... many conversations going on at the same time.
frankmartin says

it is you chris! Pop back at 9:00 for our Plurkshop and you will see the beauty of Plurk in action
frankmartin says

mattsearles says

Yeah, I think you kinda have to spend a little time on it. It's def a more intimate experience, or at least it feels that way to me..
Grumba says
get with it- we're all leaving Twitter because we can haz conversations here.
JohnScottDixon says
It's more complex - but check this thread - totally would have missed it on Twitter - keeping comments together rules!
bashbosh thinks

that Plurk is way to better than borring Twitter :-)

chrisbrogan you've got to give plurk a chance.. I wasn't sure at first but now I (K)love it!
finucane is

not sure how someone who has only done 8 posts can claim to have given Plurk a chance.
finucane says
Perhaps part of getting it is reading and responding to your own posts.
LilacMoon says

(LOL)
robins says

I agree with you Chris. Plurk doesn't do it for me
Myrnaslist says
finucane lol right on target for chrisbrogan and probably robins and others who whine that they don't get it-you have to do it to get it
4byoung says
Didn't get it either & didn't like the Karma feature. Changed my mind after a couple of Plurkshops though.
finucane says
It's really a shame too, cause chrisbrogan would stand to gain more from Plurk than most. Maybe he should ask ProBlogger about it.
finucane says
and not to beat a dead horse here, but I'm sorry, alot of you that complain about Plurk need to look at who you are following.
finucane says
I've looked at some of your friend lists and its mostly folks that only come over to Plurk when Twitter is down, and complain about Plurk
finucane says
I've said it before and it's like going to Taco Bell after Burger King is closed and complaining that they don't have Whoppers.

i don't like it either. i thinki it is the annoying emoticons that put me off. i gave it a shot, though i'll stick to twitter.
chrisbrogan says
Okay, so let's take some of this. First, is a comment the start of a conversation. It was a statement. Are ALL posts conversations?
chrisbrogan says
Further, if your version of showing me why you love it is crapping on my use of it ,wow. Useful.
chrisbrogan says
Finally, not all services are for everyone. Maybe you love it great and I don't. Just opinions. We all have one.
finucane says
What you've mostly posted here on Plurk are complaints about Plurk. How can you expect to get the effect of this service if you don't try.
finucane says
Why not actually try an experiment and cross post your twitter posts here and see what kind of posts you get?
finucane says
Also, you have over 1,100 people as fans and friends, so yes, everything you post will more than likely generate some level of coversation.
finucane says

conversation
LEMills says
I don't like a lot of it, either, but like it b/c of the threads. If it weren't for Plurk, who would have known about the lost twitterers?
Myrnaslist says
LEMills what don't you like?
AZJazzyJ thinks
by nature the Plurk interface contains all responses giving the comment a sense of beginning a conversation even without meaning it as such.
LEMills says
Myrnaslist the gaming for responses and frequency, the lack of favoriting, not knowing where I responded, all the clicking back and forth
Myrnaslist says
yes I see-you can favorite by clicking plurk page below and saving in your favorites-the gaming I agree-wastes good energy-so ego (g_doh)
LEMills has
a few pages saved, but a star-tag would be so much easier!
Myrnaslist says
I agree
lolagoetz thinks
plurk is much more high-maintenance than twitter, but does like how much easier it is to follow conversations.
jcass says
chrisbrogan you can try ping.fm to crossposting here and Twitter at the same time
ppmartin says
Plurk is a clever service & it takes a while for each Plurker to find the way s/he is most comfortable with this news tool (g_thinking)
mattsearles says
I can see the scaling issue for someone like you, but I wonder if there might not still be a way to integrate it into you total thing?
christinahills says
I had Myrnaslist show me plurk in person. Made a BIG difference
etorsten thinks

plurk is much more conversational than twitter, but there is still a long raod ahead for the developers, to make this service more useful
