Xian, I think plurk needs to complete the picture to be a viable replacement/addition to Twitter. Mobile and API are the 2 big 1s (inc. SMS)

the videogame mouse-dependent aspect of Plurk will keep it from ever being a Twitter alternative for me

I think that the timeline is a red herring. It is brilliant, but the main strong features are the threading and the alerting.
