Dev work is steadily progressing on our side
I have recruited two partners in crime
A lot of stuff can't be shown until the layouts are done but I have been doing some theorycrafting on a new possible feature
if the Orbstarter campaign does well, a Monster Dungeon may be added to Gacha National Park
with the catch that it's different every time you go in
in short
https://i.imgur.com/3gfVa3R.png in-universe roguelike dungeon
oh my sheet amazing
the generator is still a work in progress, there'd potentially be a place for submitting enemies from different canons
to add to the dungeon
it'd be a posting hook and possibly a job equivalent - get a couple combat abilities, start doing raids for cash
(no orbs though)
anyway there's two topics I'm trying to brainstorm 1
1: Shit to do in Gacha City
Necessary to keep people posting steadily
Jobs will be a thing, although I need to think of some good slightly-weird ones
and school, for younger characters - I'm envisioning a random mishmash of 90s Sitcom High School and Anime School
then eventually the Gacha National Park Dungeon
but I feel like we still need shit to Do
2: Event Worlds
the main sort of large-scale Events, temporary extra locales that the characters can visit in search of orbs and shit
There'll be one for each of the main NPCs, and the general anticipated theme is goofy parody/legally-distinct homages to various video games and genres
in which the laws of reality shift to become weirder and more video-gamey
plus also Collab Worlds but that's on the back burner for now
As one last aside,
TENTATIVE:
June 1st: Game infoposts locked in for launch
Call for sample regains for the tDM
June 10th: TDM and Reserves up
June 20th: Applications open
July 1st: Game Start
double chance of 5-star regains in the first app cycle :U
If people can offer some random brainstormy ideas, that could be a big help
two words: evo mats
what about them
occasionally have to grind for mats which in theory make themselves stronger
but for like 95% of the characters just makes their costume sparklier
all of the mats make literally no sense as to why they'd make you stronger
Here's a proof-of-concept hacky version of the dungeon generator to play with
'Grind for mats' could be sort of like a scavenger hunt activity
I like the idea of whichever event worlds are active having an influence on the hub world
Creating weird combos
Event world one: Magical Girls fighting monsters by moonlight to protect their homes with the power of love!
Event world two: In the grim darkness of the distant future there is only war and the laughter of hateful gods
Hubworld: /is seriously weird right now
I don't even know what that would look like
You could have monthly quests, like Emp's task board
But battle brother Logarius of the iron battalion has unlocked the power of the love love hero prism wand
monthly quests are going to be a thing, in a slightly different from than that
maybe a less extreme version of that
the world combinations thing
where worlds don't encroach on Gacha City but it does get visitors
Event World Slimeplanet shows up, and suddenly there are bouncing slimes all over the city
covering everything in slime
Avengers Academy basically sticks all their Event stuff on the periphery of campus but it still has an effect on the main campus map
Covering it in snow or filling it with HYDRA goons to fight or whatever
catch them and fuse them to discover slightly different colors of slimes
And of course that's a builder game so you have to plonk down event buildings but I mean aside from that
I like the idea of there being a pool of rejected monsters from breeding games like fantasy forest
All these unwanted non-rares
unwanted non-rares are already a big plot point
Maybe there's a shelter to volunteer at
on account of that's what the main NPCs are
That's why I like the idea of them also setting up a kind of rescue org for the less sapient unlucky draws
know who the real pariahs of the gacha universe are?
those special monsters that you can just fuse into a guy for 100,000 EXP but are otherwise useless
their expected lifespan is measured in seconds
here's a third open question:
What are some RPs that you felt had particularly light or demanding AC levels
and what were the requirements like
10 comments is the lowest I've ever seen, although needing those to be in a limited number of threads can make it tricky
Most I've put up with is 30 comments but I regularly make double with that with two characters so
