For Greg, the shifts in his character are pretty subtle depending on where you take him; mostly little shifts in confidence based on his relationship with the CG and financial security at the time
but i have played with the idea of playing young Greg once or twice--actually young, not fake young like in IS
All the heart and empathy but none of the experience, wisdom, or crippling fear of hurting people
All the games I've had Greg in involve him getting tangled with magic and him being Not Cool with that, but young Greg would think it's basically the raddest thing ever
so metal
I'm still bouncing around the idea of playing Hajime, too... it's been a while, but in the past he's almost always been Game 1, since it made for easy school game setting, but it'd be an interesting challenge to play him as Game 2
Less "precocious teen trying way too hard to be something he's not" more "frustrated young adult who realizes he's stagnated and is trying so very hard to not be bitter"
I'm kind of curious how Steven and young Greg would work when Greg wasn't just having amnesia
though IS Steven and Greg was fucking boss
Yeah, IS was great
but it would be pretty neat to explore how actual young Greg would react to "this is my child, right here, in front of me"
the weird conflict of thinking he needs to be the big responsible great dad this kid knows and just being soooooo not ready for that
YEAH like it's a different dynamic when he is actually his dad and has just been mad to forget it
also I guess Steven was being a dick and wildly OOC for half of that
so them just dealing with that as their normal selves would be interesting
depending on how early of a Greg you picked Steven might actually be more mature than him lol
i imagine a sort of weird brother relationship forming, except they are father and son so it's still confusing and weird
I guess more accurately Greg would try and make it a brotherly thing bc he's uncomfortable with the idea of being a dad
and how well that works is. debatable
at least Steven is pretty good at having relationships without stamping labels on them, because gems
he would be CONCERNED about any time implications though
TIMEWAAAAARP
reminds me of a time I played 35 y old Luke Skywalker in a game with an Anakin.
Luke was the mature one of course and full of Emotion and also trolled youngdad pretty bad once.
That's pretty much the best way to deal with Anakin
So much emotion, still. It was so much fun.
