download linuxmint maya rc, turn it into liveusb, apt-get install overlay-scrollbar and install dock extension. Feel it!

basically speaking, unity and gnome-shell are not my cup of tea. BUT, cinnamon + overlay-scrollbar + dock-extension = GREAT!
