How it feels writing for myself.

I have finished the hardest work, now everything is falling into place but like, at the sort of speed you get reentering the atmosphere. it's glorious.

pdf is such a wretched format. how have we not invented something better.

most of my time has been spent trying to organise this massive amount of disparate notes. I found some of my central casting pages for character rolls. I don't use them verbatim for a character, but you can get the spirit of one and work from there. and it's nice to have something to turn back to and have a childhood event you can build upon.

I just dump all my work into one master scrivener project but it's getting massively unwieldy so I split off for what I'm working on now and it's like, oh yeah this is why I work from one project file.

I thought I was gonna be cute and buy my new ssd in japan since the dollar is so strong, but it's like, thirty or forty bucks more expensive over there even though korea could just air drop the goddamn things with drones, come on.

I'm so used to reading ancient nonsense folk tales, I didn't sense anything odd at all going on in gogol's the nose until I read an accompanying essay. also I suppose I'm conditioned by detachable penis. the song might have been improved if the dong had worn a uniform, sure.

I'm reading a swim in a pond in the rain and it's maybe the most useful book about writing I've read so far? and I've read a lot of them, unfortunately. I think this has only been useful because it's encouraging what I consider bad habits that I already do... but apparently these habits are good specifically for short stories? ok I guess
