This is part of the USS Arizona sunk as one of the many on December 7, 1941 as seen from the Memorial that is over the top of it. The ship had been filled with 1 1/2 million gallons of fuel the night before. The oil slick you can see in the picture is a seepage still coming from it - 9 1/2 ounces leaks daily.

today was a day of reverence and respect for the fallen of the attack on Pearl Harbor 82 years ago. The solemnity of the moment walking above the USS Arizona within the walls of the memorial tore my heart out.

Well. Work is indeed done for the year. I did almost get away with exactly my half day Thursday but close! Always so much to do!
