I love Padre Pio.
I own many books on Padre Pio. I love him.
coarx: my great-uncle was a friend of his. He was a household name, and I still have a hard time remembering to call him
"Saint". He always has been and always will be simply "Padre Pio" to me. My uncle had the grace to be there for his beatification...
he worked his entire life for his canonization, I still have the prayers he wrote for that and the photos he took with F. Abresch
He died a few months after that.
I never met my uncle, only talked to him on the phone, and only learned about a year and a half ago
from a religious sister who didn't know me or our relation, what he really did, and how close a friend he was
Only wish I'd paid more attention when I was younger, and wish I'd met my uncle and could talk to him now.
Oh, how you want to make me cry. I've been to Italy a couple of times and have been to his shrine.
I have some Padre Pio Oil
His is a favorite Saint of most in my intecessory prayer group
Have you read-"Send Me Your Guardian Angel" Padre Pio
My prayer group in going to Italy again in July and will visit with his body before they bury him again,
I can't go because of my surgery
I have the Guardian Angel book... so sorry you can't go this July!
I have 2 3rd class relics, medals blessed at his beatification, touched to a glove and relic of his blood
Well, I should have had this surgery a long time ago. The doctor put a plate, and 10 long screw. I can't walkk
for 4 and a half months on it.
Thank you for sharing your story with me.
I hope you heal quickly!
They have a connection to Padre Pio; one of their foundresses (who broke from the original congregation in the 60's)
went to Rome to get permission to break away and maintain their traditions. While there, she met with Padre Pio who told her that
the congregation would come to be, apprently received his blessing
AdoroTeDevote: If you get a chance, try to go to the Grotto near Emmitsburg, MD.....What a peaceful prayerful place.
My guess is that it won't be possible...when I fly into Hartford, the Sisters will pick me up...and bring me back to the airport
I've never been that far east and would like to see more of it, though
We're trying to make another trip there someday.
So awesome thank you so much
God is good, and St. Padre Pio your friend...if God wills it you'll get there again!
um...take me with you? lol!
Yes, if God wills I'll visit there again,my rosary group visits Italy every year. For a special devotion to
Maria Rosa Mystica - We go for Her feast day.
