There's a slot marked "MMC/SD" on the front of my PC. Would it be safe to assume that the memory card from my camera can be put there?

Without seeing the card or the front of your computer, the chances are very high that it is for that.

How the hell am I supposed to know if the card is secure or not? What does it even mean for a card to be secure???

There's a little switch on the side of the card. Click it up or down with your fingernail to lock/unlock it. When it's locked, it's secure &

pics can't be accidentally deleted. It

to be unlocked before you can take pics & store them on it though.

If/when you take your card anywhere -- like Walgreen's, Wal-Mart, etc. - to get prints made off of it, lock it. BTDT, unfortunately.

I won't taking it anywhere for prints. Anywhere that does that sort of thing is too far away. Sorry 'bout the BTDT, BTW.
