I actually liked this book. It was much different then what I normally enjoy reading, and it was difficult to catch everything the author
was trying to explain, but I still found it pretty interesting. I feel bad about what happened to McCandless, but atleast he ended his life
where he wanted to be, and he could at least have the satisfaction of knowing how far he had come throughout his whole journey
and how he lived his dream
true...he had the opportunity to kill himself and didn't...i find that interesting. if you were in that much pain and starving, wouldn't
you end your life? it's almost like the wanted that pain..like it was a part of him
Yeah, it seems like he liked pain, just like with him and his running too. He likes to push himself, I think the feelings of struggle made
him feel more different from his family, because they're so wealthy and have everything handed to them and it gives him that "manly" aspect.
yeah! testosterone is a powerful thing! i think all guys need that manly feeling. not sure why...
Every guy needs to feel like a man I guess. We like to feel that we can accomplish things and support ourselves and others
i agree with you rachel, and i dont get it with that "man" thing either, girls want to support themselves and feel good but you dont see
them going off into the wild or jumping off a cliff.lol such different reactions to get the same feelings
He jumped off a cliff in the book!?! lol
no, haha i just mean thats a common thing guys do, they go bungee jumping or something crazy like that.lol
just trying to prove my point lol
Oh I see. Bungee jumpig would be fun. lol Girls do crazy things too I think
i think so too, but generally its not as extreme as the guys.lol
cuz like with that i think bungee jumping would be fun and id love to do it sometime but theres a certain regard most females have that guys
seem to be missing. im not meaning to sound sexist in any way, but that;s the basic idea the book talks about
how guys think that their invincible and that theyre not going to get hurt, all they want is the thrill
We don't think we're invincible but we are always pushing the envelope. Part of our nature I guess lol
it's almost a need to prove something...some animalistic instinct...not everyone is like that...not to be stereotypical
but it does seem to be more of a guy thing.
yea i agree completely and thats all i meant. and this chris mccandless fits right in with that
he needed to prove to himself that he could survive
I think it'd be a blast to go bungee jumping!
Hahaha same here! Maybe sky diving too. I'd love it! lol
