it said that my computer had a bunch of viruses and needed to run a scan

and the only way to get rid of the popup was to click "okay" or something along those lines

and it pulled up a website that said I had alllll sorts of viruses

the website was like windows something or other

but I use mcafee so I get all paranoid

and I ran my mcafee virus scan (which I just did like 2 weeks ago) and it said I didn't have anything detected

you think I just gave myself a virus by clicking on that popup???

It was likely a scam... I've had those happen before and they've been scams trying to get you to buy whichever one they're selling.

once it went to that other page I didn't click annnything and finally it went away

it was so strange and now I'm freaking out thinking I may have gotten a virus

yea its a scam

that pop up is loaded w/ scam and virus sites. Ignore it next time
