U moving to another seat? Or is the PC moving with u? Cos static IP is tied to NW card's Mac Address.

Can just tell IT to assign the static IP to another Mac Address.

our company's static IP addresses are in batches, I think. Different offices have different subnets (correct term?)

I'll go tell the boss about this Monday... Supposed to do this as part of business continuity in case of another health alert.
