the TL;DR for the setup is, there's a supercolossal golem with the apparent demeanor of an infant that's kaiju-ing our city. We have plans to lead it out to the harbor to slow it down while a powerful mage enacts a ritual to seal it in the feywild.
So we get to the harbor to commandeer our nation's top battleship, only to find out that its aged captain had a heart attack from the shock of seeing this thing (side note: we kept him alive, but he's in no shape to lead a ship).
So now we have a ship with a mismatched crew of national sailors, repurposed dock workers, a nervous first mate, and our team. And we have to choose who will officially captain the ship...
...only to realize that the one guy who can probably keep everyone on task and focused in this desperate situation is... me, the cleric who not only has a DISTINCT fear of deep water, but also a near-crippling worry that his advice, orders, or directions will end up getting people killed...
so this is either going to be a crowning moment of awesome, as he overcomes his own fears and leads this crew to victory... or it's going to almost irreparably break him.
