so like. i basically have column A as a dropdown for [Yes/No] where Yes means it is eligible for bonus AC points, and No means it should not count toward that. column B has the comment count. and cell C1 sums up column B.
how..... do i get cell C1 to NOT count the rows marked No?
...that's...a bit more advanced than I can do. Good luck. hugs
like i get the idea is [if yes, then add] or [if no, then don't add] but i'm bad at syntax alksdfj
See, in theory I could do conditional formatting but...my brain says no. I'm just glad I was able to do some basic sums on my spreadsheets ^^
That already hurt my brain to read, but godspeed
literally same, i'm proud that i was able to figure out how to even make a sum even if it's so damn simple lol
that me. It's so simple but "YAY I DID IT!"
you can use a conditional in the cell. the syntax is "=IF(condition, value when true, value when false)"
=IF(M5="no",0,IF(K5="🌱",I5,O5))
I have this one in mine. M5 is a yes/no dropdown, K5 is an emoji that's either 🌱 or 🌳, then I5 and O5 are other cells with values in them
just make sure the text in the condition matches the dropdown text exactly
thank you so fucking much
y'all it was literally this simple
=SUMIF(D6
, "Yes", E6:E)
ok idfk how to not make it make emojis
anyway. i am a simple woodland critter yet i have conquered the puter
i also learned about dropdowns today thanks to this, so that makes my life a whole lot easier. so thank you in return ♥
