first lesson, prof has to step out, so we just get tasks.
middle of that, news come that second lesson is only tasks too, teacher sick. i couldve gone to school 4 hours later
the normal entrance is blocked off bc they're digging up something, so now its a whole detour to get into the building
the social studies teacher keeps finding bad topics to discuss (todays feature: how much money do u think makes a fair wage?) that just lead to heated opinions
and then i get almost assaulted bc i stepped between a muslim girl and the town lunatic waiting for my tram home
wraps you in a blanket and puts the kettle on
i should do that in fact, i still sniffle around
i'm still baffled that there are ppl - over the age of 21 - in my class who think 1200-2300 bucks before tax is a sufficient living wage
that isn't a living wage HERE, and we have a much better tax allowance and also £1 is like 1.15 euro
minimum wage is at 1900 alone
(presuming that's monthly?)
yeah like. i make about that after tax (and after conversion) and I'm struggling
I can't imagine trying to live on that as a renter in a city
one guy also stated that "surely there are poor countries where 100€ is a high wage" and like... buddy. thats not how money conversion works
(actually, I can, which is the problem)
ALSO THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S A LIVING WAGE, PAL
there are places in the world where 10€ would be considered a good wage and that is a large part of the problem
i´m convinced thats the same (lack of) thinking as ppl who go be a tourist in vietnam and are all "tehehe, i'm a millionaire here"
also people who see no problem with outsourcing to those countries because it's cheaper
mmm love the smell of labour exploitation in the morning
