I play her as being interested in fellas because of the frankly staggering percentage of her experience with other people that was with boys... KH is a sausagefest let's just be honest

So most of the significant figures in her life in any sense are male, with her few interactions with females mainly because either threatening, painful or awkward since her relationships with them were all fairly complicated. Antagonistic with Larxene, very much wrapped up in bitterness and sadness with Kairi and Xion, etc.

That and her secondhand memories are mostly from guys, so she's just sort of... used to boys?? Actually it wouldn't be all that weird for her to be somewhat intidimated by being around other girls at all at first because What Do

Which means I generally keep her ships to boys around her age as I doubt it'd occur to her to pursue anyone else - not that she. Actually pursues anyone, generally. /segue to part 2

I also generally play her as being /mostly/ asexual/aromantic in the sense that it hasn't really occurred to her that that's something she can do, either. She's still trying to figure out how to be a person with her own life at all, much less how to share that life with someone else

So it takes some development, and even more for her to realize she has feelings for someone else

Usually what happens is they confess to her and then she goes

"..... oh"

because WAIT SHE???? CAN HAVE BOYFRIEND?????? it's very much an existential crisis and a half

but, you know, in a good way

in Song she's already gotten half of that out of the way and mentally acknowledged the fact that she Could Have Feelings, in a general sense, but that's way farther than she usually gets
