I had a huge breakthrough with one of my ongoing projects a couple weeks back, so now I'm VERY EXCITED to return to it once I finish some other things. It's nice! I'm happy! I hate abandoning things, but that fic was starting to feel like work.

the big twist here is that for various reasons, I will be changing the pairing entirely.....2/3 of the way through a three part series that I've already posted about 90k words of. So....I'm the asshole. I am the villain. But god, it'll be so much better this way, I have no choice. It's the obvious answer to all my problems.

In the meantime, I'm working on an entirely separate - fic the hunger games AU that's a fanfic of my friend's fanfic, for those of you keeping track- and it's fucking GREAT, I'm thrilled, but it's also by far the most messed up thing I've ever written in my life.

I'm working on it with that friend, and since I'm doing the bulk of the actual writing I'm making them do the summary and tags. and one of those tags is "dead dove do not eat" like.....

..........it's um......it sure is a thing. that I'm writing.

one downer: I am, in general, doing a lot better mental-health wise regarding the ex-friend who's kind of haunted this last year. but unfortunately, this specific fic is making me think of them a lot. I got so used to having to anticipate what they would think about things in order to keep them from being angry at me, that it's automatic now.

there's a chance, honestly, that they'll read this after I post it and have a whole Opinion, which would probably be a mix of "this is great in so terrible a way that I can never admit that I read it to anyone" and "ben is a bad person for writing it." but fortunately!!! I WILL NEVER KNOW!!!!!! Fortunately I will never talk to them again!!!!!
