Managed to redeem myself as mother for once by obtaining Olivia Rodrigo tickets for G at face value. First time we managed to not pay resale for her must see concert.
Yay! That's hard to do these days. I'll have to ask C if she decided to go or not - Olivia was a student at C's ES, I worked with her mom, they were in Seussical together . It's crazy to see how well she's doing!
Unfortunately missed the Eagles sale so need to pony up for resale prices there. DH really wants to go but none of the localish concerts worked timing wise so we may have to fly somewhere in November. Getting tickets to anything has become such a production.
I got tickets for Simple Minds and Del Amitri next year - missed out on wheelchair accessible so I'll be on crutches but we did get tickets in ambulatory disabled and thankfully the venue doesn't have a long walk - though I'll see if I can leave the wheelchair in the coat check which will make it easier.
There are so few wheelchair accessible seats they sell out in moments. Usher Hall in Edinburgh has 5 max - but if everyone brings a companion its only 3.
I'm going with my friend Alison who first saw them in Glasgow in about 1985! We missed out on tickets a couple of years ago when they started touring again. To be honest, we're mostly going to see them but Simple Minds in Glasgow will be great too.
I did not know they were a Scottish band until the concert (I actually did not know who was opening, for Barenaked Ladies, since it was supposed to be C and M that attended).
I deliberately keep my phone with Three because they sponsor the main indoor arena for gigs in Dublin so I can get presale codes. Same with my utility bills and the sponsor for the theatre where all the touring productions are put on.
brodyjen - they're one of those bands that sort of disappeared internationally for years but kept on gigging occasionally in Scotland. Up until a few years ago their last hit was the official team song from Scotland's last international football final qualification (World Cup 1998!)
(The Scottish football team have been surprising us by winning games lately - qualified for Euro 2020 and currently topping the table in their qualifying group, ahead of Spain! I reckon we should get Del Amitri back to record a song called "WTAF?")
