It's WEIRD, like.

The guy is good! He really is!

At certain points I really like him!

but there's still this oddly stilted thing he does especially on the expository bits?

that makes it sound, like-- idk

more like I imagine ART, honestly?

kind of solemn and self-important

He doesn't lean into the sarcasm enough, I think

When he DOES it's fabulous

Like outside of the actual dialogue he doesn't sound like MURDERBOT, which doesn't work in such a close POV

idk idk it's very weird to me because it's such a near miss to me

I'm getting a little more used to it but I'm still a little "???"

I have only experienced the audiobooks but yeah, it's also kinda hit and miss for me

I do think he does ART very well

kinda iffy on some of the female characters

like sometimes when voicing women, I think he sounds kinda like a man making fun of women tbh

idk if that makes sense

I find that's a hazard of male narrators in general

it's not with all of them tho imo

yeah, some are way better at it than others
