I just replaced the ignition housing (all the junk behind the steering wheel and the key lock cylinder) all by myself on my car!! holy hell I feel so powerful 
if you ever wanna feel like a million bucks, do something incredibly complicated with machinery that you never thought you could do
I went into it not even knowing how to work a socket wrench (still not quite sure I 100% get them)
I'm so happy I don't have to fret about the problem getting worse, finding a repair shop or losing all my savings to a giant car bill
