the games got away with localizing it to "glub" because of text-only format, but with voice acting? The little guy's best served by just having a watery-sounding voice
imagine him ending his sentence with like

at least that's one that people might actually use now and then, it might pass unnoticed until it goes at the end of a statement that isn't at all a question/rhetorical or happens every time or something

lmao yes, exactly! Like, okay, this dude makes watery sounds (the game's localization was "drip" not "glub", whoops), actually having the voice actor say "drip" or punctuate with random noises doesn't have the same effect in English, it's just distracting.
(ditto for just leaving the tic untouched like this person seemed to want)
