idk if I properly understand how mastodon works but the way I understand it it's absolutely not what I want to join.

I might've tried it out back during the porn-ban tumblr exodus but iirc you had to pay back then. Like my understanding is that you can't just follow individual ppl but have to follow topic-related communities and there's moderators for these?
