First instance, gates may have been closed by 6 yesterday (Sunday) but they were still cheering over by the jousting area so we couldn't bring the truck up to tear down until sometime after 6 30.

the trip is 2 hrs 1 min long, WITHOUT traffic that drives way below speed limit and without night road construction! we got out of there just after 7:45 pm.

Nade it home at 10 pm. Roomie had fixed problem with our truck over weekend (one of the YAYs!) but a tire was flat and had to put air in it before going to work last night. (Yes, had to work after all that. will not make this mistake again)

Got air in tire, fuzzy one threw food in bag, I grabbed a t-shirt and old jeans and went to work still in faire garb (took corset off to drive of course) - went in to work all sparkly. Washed face in work sink with hospital soap and paper towels.

Was 7 min late getting to work. Had been awake since 5 AM Sunday morning.

Worked last night, came home and let out dog. Had to get into truck to get pillows to sleep on and hit head on vending table sticking out of back of truck on my way around it.

pillows are all sweaty-smelly, slept with rolled up towek under head instead. Have had maybe 3.5 hrs of sleep until dog barking woke me up. still have to help unload, clean truck and then fill it with gas for 90+ min drive to drop it back off today before work tonight.

I am tired, friends. Head owie and TIRED.

AH-HA! Just found out why traffic was so bad! Bear just got email from event coordinator. Sheriff was paid to come direct traffic and never showed on Sunday. Hence the traffic snarl. Town members complained and now there is a meeting Wedns night to find out if we will even have a 2nd Maine Renn Faire weekend.
Keep fingers crossed folks!

We put so much into this - even with money Bear made, we haven't yet broke even. But this next weekend may do it for us, if we get to vend there. Going to light a candle later today.

But first, shower, clean clothes, filling up two gas tanks and waiting for friend to arrive to drive with us to drop off monster of a truck that we borrowed for vending.

And maybe real food. Nuts, dried pineapple slices, real kettle Korn, and a chunk of cheese do not a real meal make.

(oh yea, unpacking truck, cleaning it out etc should be included there as well.) And then maybe if I'm lucky? ANOTHER NAP. And then work again!

So no, no nap for me.

I did find a sweet ice cream shop in Keene that actually sells small-batch hand made ginger, and peach ice cream (it's next to a 5 guys burger place)

Yea it does. I think the town still wants the Renn Faire there, but there were complaints so there has to be a town meeting before next weekend.
