I have made a GoFundMe to collect money for shelters and volunteers who are rescuing animals in the flooded Region of Kherson in Ukraine, if anyone is interested
Reposts to your friends would be great too!
(I will send updates with screenshots when I send the donations).

I have been following several shelter/rescuers/volunteers in Ukraine on social media over the past year and this week have watched them rescue animals from the floodwaters, sometimes under shelling.

All donations are going to people saving animals on the ground right now.

There is 20yo Anastasia who takes care of old, sick and disabled animals at her mini shelter and takes in animals from the frontlines too. Here she was in a boat on the water, and she captured the sound of Russian strikes targeting civilians and rescuers

And there is Serhii who evacuates animals from the frontlines every weekend (he has a regular administrative job). I first learnt of the destruction of the Kakhovka dam when his volunteers group tagged me in the morning a week ago to send an alert about untying dogs to save them. They also tagged me soon after this happened.

This woman named Angelina almost drowned when her car sank while evacuating animals from her shelter in the Russian-controlled side by herself. I’ve tried before to raise money for her because she can’t get humanitarian aid where she is (but her shelter has been vetted by UAnimals, the animals rights organisation in Ukraine)
