PLURK ONLY PLAYERS: please remember that the information that you learn second-hand through other players about discord discussions are not announcements of any kind. if there is something that players need to know, the mod plurk will tell you.
i made a post on discord about this, but the tldr is: the mod will sometimes do things in chat before they make announcements. if a player comes to you telling you that "this is happening!!!" it's a good idea to 1) take a step back and 2) wait for (or straight up go to) the mod for information/confirmation
lots of people got extremely worked up about the most recent event change before the mod had a chance to explain it to people, which was really frustrating to see.
and yes, it may suck, but discord is the primary mode of ooc communication in this game. that doesn't mean you wont' see actual game-based announcements, it just means if you're not in the discord you might not see the conversation leading to said decisions
