OKAY so as I've said before, I'll be moving to Ohio this year. My spouse graduates in a month.
It's huge, it's awesome, I'm so proud of him.
He's a proper scientist and going to be doing his dream job AND joining a professional storm chasing team who recruited him for three weeks beforehand. It's SO cool!
I was scared about moving to a city but I'm more optimistic now-- several things have now happened.
1.) My car almost caught on fire, i had to leave it at a shop over two hours away-- but we've just got it back and the bill was affordable.
2.) We found out we couldn't extend our lease in our current apartment which ends in a month, a week after graduation-- but we JUST lucked out and found a landlord who will take us in for two months. I just signed the papers and got the keys today.
3.) My mom wanted to convince me to move in with her for a time but it would have been an unsafe situation for my pets and i was very worried about hurting her feelings-- I broke the news to her today and she took it well
4.) I haven't refilled one of my scripts because I didn't know where I'd be living and didn't want it to get lost in the mail and I've been extra wound up without it
5.) I got a nasty cold that has made me dizzy and brain foggy. I've chugging dayquil and napping off alka seltzer but it's just been very stubborn to kick.
ALL OF THIS. On top of preparing for graduation May 6th. Has just destroyed me.
I'm happy to report at least with this lease extension I have some breathing room, so I hope to get back to being around more soon.
This new 2-month lease won't have internet but I will live right near a little cafe I hope to hang at and get some tagging done in.
I'm hoping I don't need a hiatus. We still have to find a home in Ohio proper, but now we have a place to stay while we look and i have a month to pack (and already started!) So we have a good 2 month window before I'll probably have to come back in here to yell some more
Now i just need to get over my cold and everything will be hunky dory
But THERE that's IT. I will now return to more regularly scheduled fun activities on this timeline.
goodness, thats a lot, but good luck!!
the stormchaser job sounds SO COOL
YEAH the fact that THEY approached HIM for that one (He didn't even apply to join!) is still impressing me. Then after the stormchasing its earning his PHD at the polar research center with a team.

it's gonna be a lot to get us properly situated but it'll be so so worth it once we are
and thank you. yeah i needed to wait for SOMETHING of that mess to be resolved enough to plurk about it lol. finally having this lease extension makes me feel like i can start to breathe again
i always just feel better having this stuff up so if someone wonders where the hell I've been or why I've left them hanging

yeah. they can find this
I am handshaking you so much in suddenly cross country moving AAHHH
It is. So stressful. But the opportunity in Ohio will make the stress worth it
YES. Vigorous handshaking right back

That's right, you got your own big opportunity. I wasn't sure if you had to move for that or not. We're both gonna make it through this big scary change!!
Yeah I’m moving from the PNW to Minnesota this July!!!
So I have a few more months and don’t have the weird housing lease transition but it’s still so much to think about sending your life across state lines and DRIVING esp with pets!!!!
AHHH same timeframe and everything yeah, at least the secondary lease bit is all settled now so I only have ONE new home to look for now. Still the same boat!!
A stressful boat...! You have all my sympathies tho RJ, I’m so glad to hear you were able to figure out that lease situation
Thank you

me too. I appreciate that. It's kind of nice someone can relate at the same time. I'll be excited to hear how your own moving plans go! We both got this!!
I’ve got roughly half of my stuff sent to my apartment over there. I went in on it with my friend who already lives there so we signed papers in February
Which is why my house situation will be smooth, but I don’t have enough stuff to warrant a moving truck so my stress is instead mailing all of my life through USPS and having to strategize furniture buying for there..........
Agreed tho, it’s really validating someone can relate to how on fire my life feels atm LMAO
oh yeah! i did something similar when i stayed with my cousin in California. Definitely felt odd to just mail away a chunk of my belongings. I keep telling myself I can't buy things online right now rither because who knows what address i might be at when they finally arrive!
But hey, that's one huge part of the hurtle overcome for ya. That's great!
