Take my mind off New Computer Hell and tell me about the amazing anime they'd make about you.
my first thought is more movie-length at best: the ritual incantation is FULL of errors and if I don't sneak a corrected version in, the [group] will try to [good thing] and actually [very bad thing]
And this is why you always proofread
I am in fact the world destroying thing and it can only be prevented by me taking a very long luxurious nap
Truly an epic hero's journey
I had a dream like that once...
Like replacing a ritual, or like being a world destroying horror? Cause both sound like a good dream NGL
The latter, I was a lich taking over eastern europe with an undead horde.
Approximate knowledge of many things. Also, my ability to remember what I studied in school. Especially high school. All those chemistry, physics, and biology classes.
Random minutiae from medical school too possibly, but mostly high school sciences.
Hmmmm, maybe yours is a post apocalyptic rebuilding society's knowledge base scenario or something
i let the world end by sleeping in
The world is ending because Covid 19 turns out to have long term effects that will eventually turn people into zombies. The first zombies are discovered in China, and the world scrambles to find a cure or prepare for the Zombie Apocalypse. The cure requires someone who has symptoms similar to long term covid, but has managed to avoid catching real covid.
:| Perhaps a little too realistic though.
but also big oof, damn
Honestly though, I'm not sure the world would survive if I had to wake up early for it.
I would have to be brought in with a few other choice few who have managed to live this reclusive lifestyle, and are the test subjects for the cure. Eventually a cure if managed, and it even reverts those that have turned into zombies, but my unique crappy genetics are the only ones that give them the right combination of drugs they need. :|
Seconding the 'probably the threat, needs a nap' plot. XD
I'm not sure what the threat is but my unique skill is synergizing magic systems from different media until they make sense and I can comprehend them in a way that makes other people look at me crosseyed when I try to explain
"this is just string theory" I say, and we are then treated to a montage of physicists working furiously, etc
You're a fucking Isekai protagonist fusing the magic systems of your old and new worlds, damn
Probably some transdimensional horror threatening both sides
"x is just y except for the two ways it isn't" is one of my top fandom activities
Possibly involves knowing when to set the big bad down with a cup of tea and a comfy pillow...
Though that's hardly a unique thing. XD
Otherwise my skills are "artistic macgyver-ing" and "random-ass trivia" with a side of "atrocious puns on the spur of the moment"... How does that work out...
I'm just plain too stubborn to die after nearly a decade in kitchens, I will fistfight god and I will win.
Perfect, you're an SMT protagonist
Hmmmm, maybe the world is saved by rushing to put together a charming Ouran Host Club flavored tea date in full cosplay mode to show the big bad humanity is redeemable after all.
It'd start with me trying to teach everyone in the world how to be compassionate and observant, and when too many people fail to learn my lessons, I'd turn into a giant raging wolf monster that can only be stopped via the shit I tried to teach
... I also second this one.
This is one world destroying monster I'd welcome TBH
Imagination itself is under assault. Speculative fiction has been outlawed. I'm part of an underground resistance movement of tabletop roleplayers, passing along half-remembered game systems through word of mouth and keeping the traditions of making up fantasy worlds and gathering around tables in basements to tell private stories in those worlds alive.
Once the evil overlords are defeated, though, my work's not done. In the sequel, I've gotta teach people how to write again, too, and help edit these new stories.
Oh shit it's like D&D flavor Footloose
my sleeping menagerie of alters all wake up and start to front-communicate at once, armed between them with the full photographic memories of my entire life, essentially negating fibro fog entirely.
being that I'm a chaos magician, I can tap the magic/ki systems of every fictional universe I've ever immersed myself in, and I understand/remember all the rules with perfect clarity, and can chain them off one another in a one-fox jamjar adventuring party.
