In about to have a mid-slife crisis

I have 3 more years to go when it’s been half my life spent in SL. Wish I could spend more time, money, and energy while creating in sl but didn’t think it would last this long

A little over 1/3 here. Still, big chunk and it has saved my life in many ways.

In 2006 is when I joined and I thought "I'll probably just play for a couple of weeks and be done." You know, like I did with The Sims. But it's insane to me that I haven't been in SL since December 2020. I miss it every day but every day, I don't go back.

Same here. I joined in 2005 when I was 35. Now I'm 53... the time, where did it go? Like, yesterday we were complaining about grey goo and idle chairs

2006 for me and I’m pretty close to that stat... Couple of years.

What gets me is I walked away from my hair store in June of 2014... almost NINE YEARS AGO. 400 hairstyles... one a week for over 7 years.

Yeah we've seen a lot of strange phases for SL over these years. I do owe a lot to it too, it not only brought me together with my wife (18th wedding anniversary this year!) but our child, and then also helped support us through a lot of hard times.

I joined after you and am much older, and still marvel at how much of my adult life involves things that happened in an online "game".

I love SL, spend way too much time here, but sometimes I wonder if I may have been a better me if I hadn't started playing?

but SL did made me want to learn a lot of skills that I can use for work so it's great
