I JUst NEED SOMEONE TO TELL ME IF MY UNDERTONE IS WARM OR COOL I CANNOT TELL, I FEEL LIKE IM NEUTRAL
i saw someone mention you can see your undertone by clenching your fist and looking at the tone of your knuckles but idk if that's helpful
if u are having such a hard time figuring out which colors look better you could literally be neutral! the color differences are more obvious on some people (like me), and if theyre not obvious on you then you could just be an all-rounder
yeah I feel like I'm neutral.... also Jen WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN (stares at my knuckles quizzically)
I will report that many people have said the vein color thing is bogus so I have a feeling anything having to do with looking at your hands and wrists might also be 😔
Based on all the videos I'm watching, if you're neutral in temperature then you next look at light to dark, and muted to bright. I think I am dark contrast, but I think I'm muted, not bright, and that somehow happens to be a combo that doesn't exist on the combo scale so I'm like ????
there's also diff variations, and a lot of people just copying the same Google-able information, so i have a huge headache.
I think I can somewhat gauge what colors look better on me but it's hard to tell with brighter colors what type of light color looks ok, or if it's none
I do feel like yellows and reds don't look great on me, but I have a darker mustard ochre shirt that I think looks okay on me
but bright red or bright orange or yellow look not so great so there's that
I figured this meant I suit muter colors, but "Dark Winter" types tend to be recommended saturated colors so I'm like ???????
do jewel tones suit me? maybe... IDK
i feel like less saturated colors suit you well also!! I dont know what these other scales are, all i know is autumn vs winter LOL. Dark muted colors definitely exist as a category even if youtube fashion people havent made a word for it yet
your hair color also affects the colors you wear! For instance, i feel like harsher/more vibrant/stark colors looked better on you when your hair was black, but now that its ashy brown, warmer and/or muted colors look good on you now
They exist but I guess I mean that it doesn't exist as a recommended palette for "cool tone skin" people..... seems like dark muted colors are for warm tone skin. but if I'm neutral it's probably why I can pull off dark muted colors. this is oddly helping me, I'm starting to view it outside of the fancy words and trying to use some sense
Since I'm neutral undertone probably, what matters more is that since I am darker contrast between my hair eyes and skin, I suit darker colors. But some dark contrast people also suit like, bright saturated colors if their features are "bright" and that's where I'm lost. Basically idk if there's a color that would suit me that I would never pick! Curious
I don't gravitate towards color but I guess I am curious if there is a bright color that suits me, or if bright saturated colors in general do not suit me.
I think I am probably not "bright". like when I look at examples I'm pretty sure that while I'm dark contrast, I'm also kinda, dull in terms of skin tone so I think bright colors will overpower me. The more I think about it the idea is just that you want to match the color's strengths to your own features and you don't want it to be under or overwhelming
Light muted colors also suit you i'd say! im going through the color wheel in my head and trying to imagine bright saturated colors on you... I can't get them to work unless I turn the saturation down LOL so i think youre right in that you really shine in duller colors
and also either lights or darks, like, you can wear midtones but more contrast looks really good on you
midtones accessorized with dark or light outfit pieces to bring up their contrast look great
im rotating you in my head like an apple
whenever i have a light color it always looks best on you with something dark to go with it.... yeah.... u shine when theres something dark somewhere... its the darkness within u that wants to come out
Yeah I guess whenever I've had lighter colors on me they're usually bright T-shirts. if I wear like a cream or a ochre mustard then it works, so I CAN do lighter muted colors yeah.... not pastels tho.
LOL thank you for rotating me in your head like apple
Yeah I think you're right!
likely I can do light muted colors as long as the value doesn't end up being the exact same as my skin making me look flat if I choose a more contrasting value or layer/add a darker thing then it works
