hmmmmm so our kitchen doesn't have a door. but I am considering seeing if I can get (or make?) a noren curtain thingy for it

it's the kind of doorway where there clearly used to be a door that they just took out. it def doesn't need a full door but when I cook oily stuff, and especially now that I have a wok that will smoke a lot as a matter of course from the process, I'd love if I could block SOME of it from just fully flowing out and getting stuck in the hallway

I think a noren might help, without obstructing the kitchen too much?

norens online, when searching in English, are quite expensive. I can see why... it's relaly just... two rectangles of fabric so it'd probably make more sense to make it myself, even though I also don't super envision myself actually going to the fabric store to get fabric. so idk, I have to ruminate on how I want to solve this

hmmm but I don't want to fully block the view of the kitchen, I like being able to see in? maybe I could put in some cup hooks on each side and some string so it can be tied back?

or actually, what would look better, is if I can like, pin it up to the top easily somehow... have to think crafty...
