No change to grandfathered regions? Boo. LOL
Yeah sadly not lol, but i guess it makes sense, they probably wouldn't change until regular region price matched it (which I doubt will be any time soon)
Accepting Linden Dollars for land payments - a convenient new option for Premium Plus members. If you are a creator earning L$ inworld, you now won’t have to sell on the LindeX to pay for your region!

Yeah that's a nice feature, it's a good perk to Premium Plus membership if you have it
this is great, everyone can dodge that $2400 taxes for the region
I think that saves about $10 per full region per month. That justifies about a third of the premium plus membership
yep no way im paying pplus at that price point
True, but if you for some reason had three regions, premium plus would pay for itself
i spend less than $100L a year in upload fees
no - they only accept lindens for ONE region
this is not meant to reward land barons
Oh thanks, I missed that point
Good thing then
Q: How much land can I pay for in L$? How do I pay for Land in L$?
A: You can pay for up to one private region (some restrictions apply) in L$ as long as you maintain a Premium Plus subscription. See this article for details.
nothing for grandfather as usual, am unimpressed
they knew they were double dipping with that for YEARS - making people cash out to pay for tier
I also have a grandfathered sim, I can't even buy premium plus if I wanted it XD
i dont get why HS price didn't change
they're really trying to sell PPlus
Increasing the sell fee to 5% <- is this way more ?
with the way they let people BUY into the grandfathered region pricing...some people should not be super pleased with the reduction of regular regions but not for them after they put up a chunk of cash up front for it.

new Lindens pricing for regions:
note: it's expensive af
the fee is built in - even at market sale, $57,454 for a full is high
Wait they have set L$ amounts for payout? It's not dynamic based on the market?
Their top price there for the $599 value region is way off.
You'd get more by selling the L$ yourself wth
These are all based on L$275/US$1, do they anticipate the L$ value to settle there?
these rates are way more than market sell
It feels like a hidden convenience fee
I don't know why they can't have it be market rate
im cursed with being nosy/good at math LOL. cos i guess then you can't know how much to have on hand, since it fluctuates (not wildly, but still)
if you pay 50K and tomorrow its 60k. u might be like wtf
I think that's a fair point
even if you cash out, you still have to pay that processing fee though.. in the end it's all the same, this announcement is nothing
But still, they're charging people via P+ accounts for the right to lose money on exchange.
It is just a strange decision to me
i will not upgrade unless the price is fair. and it's not fair at the moment. When I run my region payments through my credit card, i get a % cash back every month.
I wonder if this is a way to avoid having to file taxes actually. If you're making about the same amount of money per month in L$ as your tier costs, technically you should be filing taxes whenever you exchange to US$ to pay tier
I suppose that doesn't apply if you keep the money as L$? Im not a tax expert so don't quote me on that
i'm not sure LL is taxing accurately, some land baron i know didn't receive any tax documents and they have a dozen regions cashing out
I believe there's some weird caveat to get around automatic reporting.
SL is a great place to money launder. Come money launder with us! should be their new tagline
Woohoo! I think?
gogolita: "they're really trying to sell PPlus" ... well they HAVE to make some money, somehow? Everyone complains about too high sim tiers, too high transaction fees etc etc. So they have to have SOME income, no? And I think something like a subscription isn't too bad. They just need to add some more benefits to it now.
"i'm not sure LL is taxing accurately" ... at least when I pay for my sim, they never forget to charge me the 20% VAT.
I think the issue here was simply that this benefit for P+ members only actually costs more money to do than just converting L$ as normal. It's a strange choice
That's why I think they need to prop up P+ a bit.
