just wrapping my head around the fact that my dad could've died yesterday. If he didn't have a follow up appointment for his foot, we wouldn't have tried to wake him up in the morning and he would have fallen into a coma.....
ask his doctor about glucagon. it's for emergencies like this. it's basically an injected shot of sugar to quickly normalize sugar levels. it's made for when someone gets a bad hypo episode and can't wake up to drink sweet stuff.
Spiker_Wave: it would also be good to set like a basic routine? if he can, so everyone in the house knows when he usually wakes up/eats/bathes etc.. easier to notice if something is amiss. cos sometimes the diabetic can't feel anything. they just suddenly collapse.
madugongmaria: thanks for the advice, I will try to talk to my family about this. We are trying to make sure he eats after he takes his insulin, because he sometimes just goes back to sleep
