從Slider視角去寫Bradley去了海軍官校，第一年放假的故事。第一章是非常棒的開場，有點懸疑，充滿細節，又讓人覺得心很痛。

Bradley拿走Goose的舊海軍包，所以Slider跟Ice去機場攔截離家出走一年的Bradley，一眼就看出哪個是他的行李。

他們在Bradley出來前就拿走他的行李，完全沒注意到他們的Bradley等行李的同時，一路幫各式各樣的乘客把他們的行李從轉盤上拖下來，直到最後只剩下他還呆呆站在那裡等待為止。

He looks tired. Ron spots it. Tom makes another noise - and yeah, he spots it too. Bradley looks dead on his feet, bundled up in a USNA sweatshirt and jeans, and he scrubs at his face when he wanders over to the luggage carousel. He helps a family fish together all of their bags. He helps a single mom with her stroller.

He neatly sidesteps screaming kids and frazzled parents, pulling bags clear of the carousel to reunite them with their owners as he waits.

He waits and waits and waits until the board switches flight numbers. He blinks up at the sign, looks down, and seems to realize he’s the only one left waiting. His face doesn’t crumple. It only grows softer, sadder, more tired.

直到這個時候，他們才知道Maverick做了什麼。而Bradley以為他們全部都有參與，或是說，他不知道誰可以相信，所以他斷絕了與所有人的聯繫。
後面作者花了大把的篇幅來描寫Maverick對Bradley的不信任和Bradley的罪惡感是怎麼把Bradley變得支離破碎。

很喜歡這篇文章裡的一些細節，像是Slider一直想到：他是RIO，他永遠會有一個駕駛員，他的駕駛員有Wingman，而Bradley卻沒有人的陪伴。還有其實是Slider教Bradley打棒球的，以及第三章，86 class都被向他們求救的Slider嚇到了，但他們每一個人都願意瞞著Mav幫助Bradley.

又是一篇PTSD Bradley

這篇就典型H/C 滿溫柔的，但是Bradley的溝通程度真的令人搖頭，雖然看到Bradley把Mav罵到哭著回家(?)我忍不住笑了，怎麼可以笨成這樣，算非常IC?

Jake抱著一箱DVD跟零食站在Bradley家門口的畫面太可愛，忍不住把這篇留下來。鳳凰一如既往，體貼的大好人，最喜歡了。

如果Bradley和Jake真的是bitter ex，那這一篇裡兩人的對話與相處模式會是我覺得最IC的

但是Bradley你對Phoenix兇屁啊，你以為Phoenix是為了誰才那麼生氣

剩最後一章完結，不過劇情已經足夠完整 Fool That I Am - electricghosts - Top Gun (Movies) [...

Goose死後，Mav用酒精麻痺悲傷，即使跟Ice交往也只是不斷增加勒戒失敗跟他令人失望的次數，最後Ice放棄，申請轉調。
但是Carole過世後，Mav得到Bradley監護權，他努力把一切黑暗藏在這個他最疼愛的孩子的視線之外，只是12歲的Bradley有時讓他無法理解、苦惱萬分，偏偏分手5年的Iceman挑在此時回來了...

這個作者大概是想虐卻狠不下心虐Mav,又或者專心在emotional hurt了，雖然有幾個段落對酒精中毒跟勒戒過程寫得比較露骨，其他地方都還是輕輕虐然後灑點糖。

其實比起IceMav，更喜歡這篇裡面Slider&Mav友情，還有Mav&Bradley親情。
小Bradley超可愛，他懂事，也知道Maverick 瞞著他什麼，只是從來不說，但他畢竟還是只有12歲，會怕、會生氣、會鬧彆扭。整篇文章最喜歡他因為Mav難過早起想替他做鬆餅的片段，還有最後他選擇領養一隻膽子小瘦巴巴的狗，因為他就是這樣一個選擇去治癒別人的孩子。

If he was honest, he wasn’t entirely surprised that Bradley showed interest in the old beat-up dog, that’s just who he was; a kid who’d spent his whole life trying to save those around him. Might as well save a dog or two along the way
