讀到欲罷不能的文，雖然心情有點小複雜，這篇的Bradley超級慘，人生重大決定都是別人在幫他下，說都是為他好，結果最後沒有人好。Mav抽了他的申請書，Jake說為了保護他結果做的事都是在傷害他

I couldn’t accept that. There are very few good things in my life, darlin’, and they never last long. You’re one of the very best.

Bradley的心魔是 “How could you let me go so easily?” Jake則是相信自己不但會早死還會因靈魂伴侶而死，所以他的告白是Whatever time I have left…it’s yours.

這個作者感覺應該很愛Hangman，給了他非常多層次的設定。在自大的外表下，他如此相信Seresin 家靈魂伴侶的詛咒，其實最後還是為了肯定跟保護自己。

特別喜歡Mav開導他的話，畢竟保護自己是一種本能，有什麼錯？但Jake Seresin，一個每次飛上天空就是對死神比中指的飛行員，只因為害怕就要放棄可能得到的幸福嗎？

Bradley’s eyes hardened and then he sighed, “Jake, you’re a walking contradiction. You know that? You’re so sure of yourself - so sure that you can get yourself out of any batshit situation in an F-18.

But you let this family curse - that we don’t even know is real, that probably isn’t real - drive your life. Maybe your ancestors just met shitty people. Maybe your dad lied to you. Did you ever think about that? Maybe someone in your family just made it up to justify their own shitty life choices?

Yeah sure - maybe this curse is real. But are you really just going to keep running for your entire life? Aren’t you tired?”

Jake shook his head. No, no - it couldn’t be. He’d been living with this his entire life. When he was younger and more naive, he’d gone to fortune tellers and spiritualists, questionable or otherwise. Jake had planned his entire life around this curse.

It was real. It was real. It had to be real.
