yeah that's the thing. OP clearly feels like he's can't trust them but doesn't have another option and is thus like...doing quite a few things that undermine GHOST

like the fact he showed Dot the detainment center and admits he's not supposed to. And also he's constantly doing the Dorky Grandpa thing where he's trying too hard to be relatable (the entire GHOST orientation, the finger guns to Agent Schloder in episode 9, etc)

I'm not sure it's entirely an act, but it does feel a bit like he lays it on thick and people underestimate him because of it

then he pulls out the moves during the seeker fight and formulates thoughtful plans to rescue megatron and dot and it's like "oh here's optimus."

(and dot seems to warm up to him more over the course of the episodes as she realizes there's More Going On that how she was originally judging Optimus)

And Megatron twice kind of implies that Optimus sacrificed Something for the sake of earth/Cybertronians on Earth and I wonder if he's talking about taking out the space bridge or something else (potentially Matrix-shaped).
