it is extremely hurtful to see all the attacks on transgender women when they face the most violence against them, mainly perpetrated by cisgender men. I'm begging people to see that trans people are only 1% of the population, maybe even less. Putting trans women in male jail cells is allowing more violence to come to them. Of course some can be criminals,-
but the statistics are being blown out of proportion to make them seem like a danger to women, a threat to women, when they are neither. Being supporting of gay rights while demonizing the trans community does not make you an LGBTQ+ ally.
More and more anti-trans legislation are being passed in the US, banning life-saving care for trans people thinking that this can "solve the trans problem". In the time where we are supposed to be "progressive", we are seeing more hate and discrimination for a vulnerable group of people coming from all sides. Transphobia is not acceptable.
Listen to trans voices.
I already see so much transphobia on my twitter dashboard everyday, I don't need this on plurk (and I don't even visit here that often)
Call me a social justice warrior or whatever, I just want trans women to be allowed to exist
