I wondered, is there symbolic importance of brass, or something made of/incorporating it?

I thought nothing of it really if only because I know 'the brass' as a slang term for the higher ups

I did a few searches, originally looking for ties to the church, and saw that some refer to the higher ranking officials in the clergy as “top brass”-- and yes, Faust, exactly

It looks like that term extends to just about anything with ranking officials in an organization
