[Covid CN] This is pretty much entirely cute cat story, but it does have a background of covid in the household, so.

Well, Middle Sib and Mom are both feeling physically bad. They tested, and it came up negative, but Middle Sib especially is feeling really rotten and gross.

So I'm feeding Chestnut for them.

but Chestnut is very unhappy because he knows his friend is right there and thinks it is incredibly unjust that he isn't allowed in! To purr! To cuddle! To potentially get infected!

Me: /feeds Chestnut
Chestnut: You're the WRONG HUMAN.
Me: I know, I'm sorry, buddy, I wish I could explain it in a way you understand.
Chestnut: DO NOT OFFER ME TREATS. I AM A LOYAL CAT. I TAKE FOOD ONLY FROM THE HAND OF MY PERSON.

I took Eliza downstairs and shut her in our room so he'd have a chance to change his mind instead of his food getting gobbled by Miss I Am The Empress Regnant

Chestnut: /sits outside Middle Sib's door on his little squishy mat, doing his best impression of Faithful Hund despite being very definitely feline

Notice: Chestnut still hasn't touched his food so Eliza's spending the night locked in with me!

He's fine it won't kill him to reject a few suppers. But it is a good reminder of my place. I am. The wrong hoomin.

Day Two: still refusing the gooshy food, but grazing on crunchies. I guess it's only the supper meal that is the target of his action.

Listen he's got his point across, no need to inflict any more on himself 🤣

Targeted direct action is often more effective! I think he's making sensible strategic decisions!

Hilarious ones. But sensible.
