unless US law has changed since I last checked, the fact that I've had gender dysphoria on my sheet for over two years should mean that neither the firm nor my insurance can reject the request without medical cause
Here's hoping you've got someone with the doctor's staff that twists their arm on it to nip things in the bud if they try.

One of my dear friends felt SO MUCH BETTER after their top surgery, I hope it's the same for you. (Also, I am jealous of their beard now, good lord. It comes in PERFECTLY whereas if I don't shave for three days I look like a crazed lumberjack
