Today at work we were told that a recent hire was being let go, and today I learned:
I work for a local business that will not only give two weeks notice to someone they're letting go, but will also be flexible with that person's schedule if they have job interviews to go to.

before today i would have said, 'show me an employer that does that and i'll show you your alarm clock, time to wake up'
i still have a question or two about this place (we are strongly encouraged to avoid discussing salaries, tho they stop short of illegally forbidding us), but in a lot of ways i feel like they treat their people much better than many/most places do
(also once i'm established, like a year or so in, i am absolutely opening up the salary discussion)
